The beginning of wisdom is to desire it.

Before you speak, your words are in your power. But once you speak, they pass out of your control, and rule over you.

If you cant have what you desire, desire what you can have.

A mans ear belongs to himself; his tongue belongs to others.

Man is wise only while he searches for wisdom; If he thinks he has found it, he is a fool.

There are three types of friends: those like food, without which you cant live; those like medicine, which you need occasionally; and those like an illness, which you never want.

You may regret your silence once, but you will regret your words often.

Withhold your tongue as you would withhold your money.

Riches bring anxiety; wisdom grants peace of mind.

If the ear is stuffed, of what use is the (warning) bell?
